What is the lifespan of SPC flooring?

How long can SPC flooring last?

Under normal circumstances, SPC flooring used at home can last for 15 to 25 years without any problem. If well maintained, it can last even longer. This is more durable than many other types of flooring, such as ordinary plastic flooring or laminate flooring.

What determines how long it lasts? The key lies in these few things:

Whether the surface protective layer is thick or not (this is the most important!)" :

For places like bedrooms that are used less frequently: thinner ones (such as 6 to 12 mils) are also sufficient.

For frequently visited areas such as the living room and dining room: It is better to choose a uniform thickness (12 to 20 mils), and most people opt for this.

For the entrance, kitchen, or when there are many family members and pets: Be sure to choose a thick one (20 mils or more), which is more scratch-resistant and wear-resistant, and can be used for a much longer time.

For store opening or office use: It must be extremely thick (30 mils or more).

Is the quality of the floor itself good?

Good flooring uses stones with a lot of powder, which are pressed firmly and are less likely to crack or get damaged. Cheap goods may be very crispy.

Did you pretend well?

The ground should be flat, clean and dry: If the ground is uneven, the floor will be uneven or even crack when laid.

Leave gaps on the edges: The floor will expand and contract when exposed to heat or cold. Leaving gaps will prevent it from arching.

Each piece must be clamped tightly: When installing, it should be aligned and clamped properly. Do not force it to break and damage the lock.

When the ground is damp, moisture-proof films should be laid: especially on cement floors or basements, which can prevent moisture from rising.

How to use it in daily life:

It's definitely more economical to use it at home than in a store.

Corridors, kitchens and doorways are places that are frequently stepped on and thus deteriorate quickly.

Pet PAWS can scratch the floor. A thick protective layer is more resistant to scratches.

Heavy furniture legs without cushions are prone to dents or scratches. It's best to put a cushion under a chair with wheels.

How to maintain it on a regular basis:

Frequent cleaning: Sweep the floor, vacuum the dust, and mop the floor with a wrung-out mop and a special cleaner (do not use irritating ones).

Do not use strong acid or strong alkali cleaners: such as toilet cleaner, bleach, and polish can damage the floor surface.

Never use a steam mop: it's hot and wet, damaging the protective layer. Water may also seep into the seams and damage the lock.

Soft pads for furniture legs: Protect the floor from being crushed or scratched.

Why is SPC more durable? Because it has these advantages:

The stone powder core makes it particularly hard and solid, and it is not easy to be scratched or dented.

Not afraid of water damage: The entire core is not afraid of water and can be used in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. There is no need to worry about it being damaged by water damage like wooden floors.

It is not very afraid of thermal expansion and contraction: Weather changes have little impact on it and it is not easy to deform or arch.

Not very afraid of sun exposure: Good quality, it is not easy to fade even after long-term sun exposure.

To sum up

For ordinary household use, choose a medium thickness one (such as 12 to 20 mils), and it is quite common for it to last for about 20 years under normal circumstances.

If you choose a thick one (20 mils or more), install it very carefully and maintain it very well, it can be used for more than 25 years with ease.

If you open a store or a place with a huge flow of people, it will be very expensive. Even if you choose a thick one, it may only last for about 10 to 15 years.

Want to use it for a long time? The key lies in three points:

Choose the right thickness according to the location (the thicker the place with more people, the thicker it should be).

Find a reliable worker to install it properly (the ground should be flat, there should be gaps, and it should be clamped tightly).

Regularly clean and maintain according to the rules (do not use the wrong cleaning agent and do not use a steam mop).
